12th AIIAS Graduate School Forum
on Business, Education, and Public Health
Dec. 1-2, 2011
Theme: Sustainable Reform in the Developing World
This year’s forum of the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies aims to address the basic concerns of the developing world, particularly in the area of intellectual capital, information literacy, and quality of life. Through the lens of business, education, and public health, the goal of the Forum is to achieve reform that is culturally appropriate and sustainable over time. More than an opportunity to discuss preferences, however, this conference is a challenge to provide data to enlighten the conversation—data collected and interpreted by those living and working in the developing world, who can provide an insider perspective.
The Forum is of particular interest to academics, researchers, educators and practitioners interested in current research results. Conference activities include
- Presentations of new ideas, research findings, and recommend changes
- Networking opportunities and interaction with other participants
Call for Papers
Research proposals of 250-500 words must be submitted by August 12, 2011, with acceptance communicated before the end of August. Full papers must be submitted by November 1.
Papers submitted for the Forum should be original, unpublished manuscripts, related to one of the conference strands. Main topics have been identified (see below); but new contributions that fit into these strands may be considered. Of particular interest are reports of primary research, or conceptual frameworks based on a literature review that contribute new concepts to the field. The best of the papers presented will be published in the April 2012 issue of International Forum, the AIIAS Graduate School’s research journal.
